Coles and TK Maxx open at Chullora Marketplace

When Big W announced in 2019 that it was planning on closing upwards of 30 stores it changed the approach of many sub regional centres where they were an anchor tenant. Fortunately for the owners of Chullora Marketplace they were able to agree terms with key tenants Coles and TK Maxx in the lead up to the Big W Closure in February of 2020.
Restifa & Partners were tasked with overseeing the change, working from lease negotiation, through Authority Approvals, design, tendering and delivery of this major change within an existing trading centre. The project required the full strip back of the old Big W space, which had been trading since 1982, and renewal of the structure and services to suit the new tenants’ requirements. While working within existing buildings always brings many challenges we were able to complete the works under budget, and on time, despite interruptions from COVID-19 forced restrictions. The combination of a new fresh food offer and a fast moving fashion and homewares retailer has revitalised the centre, strengthening its existing customer base and drawing new customers to the well-established sub regional centre.
Restifa & Partners are proud to have been involved in this 3rd renovation of the Chullora Marketplace, lending our retail delivery experience to achieve a great result from difficult circumstances.
